The best cloth in the world would not do its job well if it was held together by weak thread. There is a lot of thread that starts out strong, but extended exposure to the elements - especially the sun - weakens most threads over time. (See chart comparing different types of outdoor thread)
SouthernShade Solutions uses Tenara® M1000 Sewing Thread because it has a break strength of fifteen pounds and 100% retained break strength even after three years of exposure! This compares to less than 40% retained break strength for other acrylic, polyester, and cotton/polyester threads.
